About the artist

Shirleen Scholl

We got to know Shirleen through our artist Lukas – because for Shirleen, too, the Bauhaus city of Dessau is the centre of her creative work.

Her passion for drawing, her creativity and love of detail, her urge to constantly develop and try out new things – all this inspires us enormously. Whether it’s digital drawings or illustrations of books, her own stories or music covers – Shirleen is extremely versatile and we are happy that she is part of BEHIND MIRRORS!

Drawing has been my greatest passion since I was a child – I grew up with Disney, Nintendo, manga and anime, so I prefer to work in manga style. Drawing is more than just a hobby. After art school I trained as a graphic designer and studied design in Dessau, including a semester at the Rochester Institute of Technology (USA) with a focus on illustration and photography. Besides my own creations, I am working with a friend on a book called “Black Demon” – a dark, dramatic sci-fi series, with a new chapter appearing every month.
